We invite applications for a laboratory assistant position within the Virology QC team based in Bergschenhoek. Job Description

  • Our client, a prominent player in the global food industry with a focus on hybrid vegetable seeds such as tomato, cucumber, and bell pepper, presents an exciting opportunity for you to contribute to research and development. Your meticulous attention to detail will play a pivotal role in upholding the stringent quality standards maintained by the QC team.
  • As an member of the team, you will be entrusted with the vital task of preparing buffers essential for the laboratory operations.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of buffers and other laboratory reagents in adherence to established protocols
  • Maintain accurate records of buffer preparation and diligently manage inventory
  • Ensure proper storage and correct labelling of all buffers and reagents
  • Regularly monitor buffer expiration dates and initiate reordering as required
  • Collaborate effectively with the Laboratory Manager and undertake additional laboratory duties as assigned
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols and regulatory requirements


Requirements

  • Possess at least MBO level qualification
  • Minimum one year of practical laboratory experience or internship is essential
  • Experience in inventory management is desirable
  • Familiarity with working in a quality-regulated environment is advantageous
  • Full-time availability is a prerequisite
  • Effective communication skills in English are required
  • Demonstrate a proactive, hands-on approach and strong team-player mentality


Benefits

  • Employment: 1 year via Oxford Global Resources, with a possible extension afterwards;
  • Salary indication: € 2350,- to € 2600,- gross per month, depending on education and experience;
  • Working hours: fulltime (38 hours)
