Job description
Our client is a chemical world leader in the area of pains & decorative coatings. The R&D team consists of 6 highly specialized, creative and innovative professionals working on new formulations & solutions. They are currently looking for an experienced addition to their team who brings fresh knowledge, perspective and ideas. This highly challenging senior position carries a lot of freedom & broad responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Project manager for several projects aimed at formulation of new coatings/paints;
- Designs, executes & performs hands-on formulation experiments (80% hands-on);
- Responsible for client contact and updates, sometimes through client presentations;
- Attends and presents at conferences in the area of expertise;
- Has a senior position in the team and as such shares knowledge with team members & motivates them;
- Assists in tech transfer and scale up of novel formulations to production;
Requirements
- MSc / PhD + 10 years of industry experience (post academic) in wood or decorative coatings (must);
- Solid knowledge of chemistry, is already an expert on paint / coating formulations;
- You have a creative and innovative mind;
- Proven track record of introducing new products into the market;
- Sound knowledge of manufacturing environments - scale-up, alignment and troubleshooting;
- Sound knowledge of the European Regulatory landscape;
- Six Sigma (Green Belt), experimental designs and statistical analysis;
- You are an excellent communicator and familiar with client contact;
- Due to many international (internal & external clients) multiple languages would be highly beneficial, especially French and /or Polish
- English is a must,
- A valid work permit for the Netherlands is a must
