Job Description

As Medical Advisor, you are responsible for the translation of scientific and clinical insights into the overall success of the business through; developing and implementing medical affairs plans, driving high quality education related to emerging data and product knowledge and partnering with key opinion leaders through core medical activities. In this position, you will also be responsible for data analysis, generation and internal distribution (existing and new data) and become one of the key members of the medical department.

The role of the Medical Advisor is to interact significantly with internal and external customers and Medical Advisors have therefor a hybrid setting.

Responsibilities

  • The Medical Advisor provides broad and deep understanding of the therapeutic area cross-functionally. Seen as credible medical and scientific expert by internal and external customers.
  • The Medical Advisor coordinates and ensures qualitative product / disease and therapies training on assigned therapy area and medicines to internal and external customers, including the field force.
  • The Medical Advisor serves as a point of contact within the Medical Affairs team for external experts and in general in order to satisfy their needs for scientific information and knowledge in a therapeutic area relevant for Client medicines, and support the safe, effective and appropriate use of Client products.
  • The Medical Advisor collaborates actively as member of Brand Teams with other functions (such as Marketing, Sales, Tender manager) to ensure development and implementation of material and projects part of the strategic customer plans.
  • The Medical Advisor develops external contacts with KOLs, influencers, key associations, academic and regulatory community to gain insights in market and clinical evolutions including competitive intelligence and organize Advisory Boards when appropriate.
  • The Medical Advisor engages HCP's in non-promotional medical and scientific discussions regarding all onmarket and in-development Sandoz products or topics relating to disease states.
  • The Medical Advisor supports developing new data (through e.g. IITs, NIS and research collaborations), analyze existing data and distributes this internally
  • The Medical Advisor provides new collaboration opportunities with HCOs and HCPs
  • The Medical Advisor develops, initiates and follows up of medical projects and/or clinical studies initiated within the therapeutic area of interest for Client (e.g. research collaborations)
  • Last but not least, the Medical Advisor ensures that all material and activities are conducted with due regard to all applicable local, global and national laws, regulations, guidelines, codes of conduct, Company policies and accepted standards of best practice.

Requirements

  • You hold an advanced degree in relevant scientific discipline
  • You have demonstrated experience in medical affairs and/or experience in a Medical Advisor/MSL function or a PhD in immunology
  • You are fluent Dutch, French, English (oral and written).
  • You have a state-of-the-art medical, scientific and clinical knowledge.
  • You are able to comprehensively learn about new subject areas and environments and translate into understandable language for the stakeholder
  • You have excellent written and spoken communication, negotiation and presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with external experts, physicians and other healthcare decision makers.
  • You have a positive and 'can-do' approach; biased towards finding solutions and win/wins, responsiveness and flexibility.
  • You are an excellent team player with interpersonal skills; strong sense of ownership and accountability, and proven project management
  • You have professional respect and credibility with extensive knowledge of therapeutic area, encompassing business strategy and market trends.
  • You are familiar with respective health authority, GCP and ICH requirements, including regulations of promotional materials.
  • You have a successful development, implementation and management of innovative programs and processes.
  • You have a strong pronounced interest in commercial success of projects/products in Therapeutic Area/Business Unit.
  • You have the existing right to work in Europe
