Job description

As a Food Scientist you will play a pivotal role in driving process development and improvement initiatives. Your primary responsibility will be to support a core technology component area for our business and customers, ensuring alignment with business-defined technology needs. You will lead and execute complex research projects, employing multidisciplinary approaches to deliver innovative solutions. This position demands expertise in process development, process improvement, and piloting efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise to project teams and functions, offering technical guidance and scientific insight for new process development and process improvements.
  • Ensure projects progress according to plan, diligently documenting and communicating results.
  • Lead efforts in new product innovation, driving high-performance outcomes.
  • Identify and spearhead evaluations of external process or manufacturing technologies and facilities.
  • Scout and develop new process or product opportunities that contribute to business growth and create distinct value.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to subordinate groups.
  • Support and adhere to corporate and local safety, food safety, and product safety policies and procedures.
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, escalating only the most intricate matters to appropriate staff.

Profile

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Expertise in process technologies and engineering principles relevant to process development and scale-up.
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Expertise in resin-based separations, membrane-based separations, and crystallization techniques.
  • Proven track record of developing, leading, and participating in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Preferably a minimum of 5 years of experience in new food process development.
  • Preferably a minimum of 5 years of experience in process improvement or optimization efforts.
