Job Description

Our client are seeking an experienced R&D Engineer to work within a small team to provide solutions to complex technical problems where the analysis of situations and data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable and consistent with organizational objectives. Experience with NPIs and medical devices is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

  • Selects techniques to solve complex by understanding, analyzing, and troubleshooting complex systems.
  • Takes initiative to reach out to internal expertise to resolve technical issues.
  • Summarizes, analyzes, and draws conclusions from complex test results.
  • Designs and coordinates complex engineering tests and experiments.
  • Assesses the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering evaluation tests, products or equipment.
  • Applies detailed knowledge of vaguely defined customer needs to their work product.
  • May train and/or provide work direction to technicians and entry-level engineers.
  • Compliant utilization of design control process for Design and Development part of Product Realization.
  • Ability to lead the creation and/or maintenance of R&D deliverables and contribution to proper records organization within PLM system for DHF, DMR, and functional deliverables.
  • Seeks most efficient application of regulations to their project (e.g., sample sizes/ stacking/ technical rationale).
  • Works with existing vendors and seeks new vendors.
  • Uses engineering principles and techniques in areas such as statics, strength of materials, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, kinematics, dynamics, statistics, IP, test method development, medical device design, process technology, engineering analyses (CFD, FEA, Multi-Physics, etc), Design of Experiments, clinical and pre-clinical med device design standards / regulations while working on assigned projects and solving problems.


Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, or applicable technical field experience
  • 6 -10 years of experience, with a focus on New Product Development.
  • Prior experience in medical device industry preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with good leadership abilities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good technical capabilities and project management capability to develop aspect of assigned projects on time and within budget.
