Job Description
As QC manager, you will lead the Quality Control Laboratory at the location in Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork. You integrate operational excellence principles and mindset into your personnel. In this position you will lead a team of 4 supervisors and 30 technicians. The team has a wide focus doing analysis, assessments, and release of raw materials in accordance with quality criteria.
Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and guide your team to maximise their effectiveness and the quality.
- Implement an environment for continuous improvement and simplification.
- Foster a positive, progressive culture within the laboratory that focuses on, and encourages development for all staff.
- Ensure laboratory equipment and laboratory software are qualified and maintained in a compliant manner.
- Ensure that the laboratory is ready for audits at all times.
- Improve QC operations and develop systems. Focus on efficiency, cost and compliance.
- Implement operational excellence processes of excellence for the QC laboratories.
- Participate in technical and scientific meetings, training days, trade shows, conferences.... (technological intelligence).
- Delegate activities with responsibility to staff based on their experience/expertise.
- Maintain and develop skills to ensure that a multi-task team is maintained.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Science or equivalent with at least 8 years of relevant experience in a management position.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge of analytical laboratory equipment and operations.
- Experience working in a high standard GMP regulated environment.
- Proven track record in direct people management.
- Excellent conflict resolution skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration across multi-functional teams.
