Microbiology Junior Scientist (Medical)

Job Description: The Junior Scientist in Microbiology will conduct analytical testing, manage stock control, and contribute to policy and procedure development. They will work collaboratively with the laboratory management team, consultant pathologists, and requesting clinicians to ensure the highest standards of patient safety.
Responsibilities:
* Conducting analytical testing and reporting of laboratory specimens, including blood cultures, plate reading and urine analysis.
* Communicating relevant information about patient safety to laboratory management, consultant pathologists, and requesting clinicians.
* Managing stock control in the microbiology area and performing clerical and technical tasks in accordance with sample handling procedures.
* Participating in quality assurance programs, ensuring compliance with ISO 15189 requirements and Health and Safety legislation.
Requirements:
* CORU or HCPC registration is a hard requirement.
* Minimum of two years of experience in a medical laboratory in the field of microbiology.
* Excellent organizational and team-working skills.

* Salary: 2900-3500 euros per month, depending on experience.
* Full-time/part-time: Permanent position with regular working hours.
