Job Description
Our client are seeking experienced Mechanical Design Engineers to work hands-on and to lead the design and development of a new infusion product. This hands-on role blends conceptual design with practical implementation, requiring a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles and a proven ability to translate ideas into functional prototypes. The ideal candidate will have strong experience translating designs from first principles into 3D models and prototypes, with a solid track record in New Product Development (NPD).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design efforts from concept to prototype.
- Develop 3D models and detailed design specifications using SolidWorks.
- Apply sound engineering judgment to define hypotheses, design tests, evaluate data, and iterate effectively.
- Conduct tolerance analysis and produce high-quality drafting documentation.
- Collaborate with junior engineers and technicians to drive project success.
- Define mechanical tests, prepare set-ups, guide technicians during execution and interpret results.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial).
- 5 -10 years of experience in mechanical design, with a focus on New Product Development.
- Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in fluidics or infusion systems preferred.
- Ability to work independently and lead small teams.
- Strong understanding of mechanical fundamentals and prototyping.
- Experience in test planning and analysis.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
- Background in medical devices, ideally infusion systems.
- Familiarity with regulatory and testing standards.
