Job Description
Our client are seeking an experienced Electrical Plant Engineer to ensure electrical engineering excellence and to provide support to a designated plant area. This role is essential for achieving key metrics in Safety, Quality, Supply, and Costs. The primary responsibilities include maintaining and improving plant electrical systems, power distribution, instrumentation, and control systems, ensuring their reliability, compliance, and availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Resolve issues related to electrical equipment breakdown and reliability
- Continuously optimize electrical maintenance strategies to maximize plant reliability and minimize lifecycle costs, supporting site-wide continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure statutory and regulatory compliance of electrical systems
- Manage maintenance spending on electrical services, contractors, and equipment within the assigned area
- Provide electrical and instrumentation technical expertise to the technician-craft group within area of responsibility
- Lead weekly Compliance meetings relating to electrical safety and quality requirements.
- Assist Operations with technical electrical and control-related equipment issues.
- Contribute to the design, specification, and review of electrical and control systems to ensure fitness for purpose, compliance with safety and GMP requirements, and optimization of lifecycle cost.
- Participate in electrical safety reviews, risk assessments, and HAZOPs as required.
- Support regulatory, quality, and safety audits with specific focus on electrical compliance and documentation.
- Develop and update Engineering SOPs relating to electrical systems, power distribution, and instrumentation.
Key Requirements
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering, or equivalent experience, with a minimum of three years' experience in a GMP-regulated environment
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, power distribution, motors, VFDs, PLCs, and instrumentation
- Experience with electrical fault-finding, root cause analysis, and reliability improvement methodologies
- Excellent organizational, planning, and scheduling skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team
- Strong communication skills and ability to contribute to proactive two-way communication within the team and cross-functionally
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to challenge existing practices, vendors, and technical solutions to ensure optimal performance and compliance
- Ideally experience within a pharmaceutical or similarly regulated manufacturing environment.
