For one of our clients, we are immediately looking for an analyst with experience in mass spectrometric analysis methods LC-MS.

Responsibilities

  • Perform instrumental analytical analyses, data processing, and management of research projects focusing on oligosaccharides, peptides/proteins, and metabolites
  • Utilize LC-ESI-MS, capillary gel electrophoresis, and mid-infrared transmission spectroscopy techniques
  • Develop new analytical methods and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Manage projects, register samples, and evaluate complex data sets
  • Optimize and develop methods on the LC-MS platform
  • Handle complaints, interpret data, and ensure accurate processing of results
  • Stay informed about the latest developments in research
  • Conduct statistical processing of complex data sets
  • Participate in projects within the organization

Requirements

  • Degree (Bsc or MSc) in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Chemistry, Biology or similar
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience with LC-MS; experience with capillary gel electrophoreses and mid-infrared transmission spectroscopy preferred, or willingness to learn
  • Proficiency in (U)HPLC, preparative SEC, and MALDI-MS applied in life science research or within the food sector.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as Explorer Series, Analyst (ABSciex), Exalibur, Bioworks, Chromeleon (Thermo Scientific), Chemstation (Agilent), Empower (Waters), LIMS, etc.
  • Experience in evaluating large, complex datasets with advanced (multivariate) statistics-software tools
  • Senior experience in (bio-)analytical method development and preparation of SOPs
  • Hands-on, flexible, self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; knowledge of other languages is a plus
