Job description
In the role of (senior) technician you will be part of the strain development unit. The unit is responsible for the storage and supply of production strains in relation to different production sites, as well as for research strains in relation to R&D. Together with the other team members, you will apply the appropriate microbiological standards, in order to guarantee a storage and supply of strains at the highest quality level.
Responsibilities
- Development of master- and working cell banks (MCB, WCB) of production strains for a variety of microbial species (bacteria, yeasts, fungi), as well as the execution and reporting of quality control tests
- Shipment of cell bank material to production sites across the world
- Strains from R&D as well as external culture collections are ingested, conserved, and stored in the culture stock.
Requirements
- Finished a HLO education in a relevant discipline (microbiology, bio-medical sciences or similar)
- At least two years of experience in a microbiological laboratory environment, preferably working experience with a diverse range of microbial species
- Good command of the Dutch language orally and in writing
- Practical experience with laboratory and office software
