Job description
In the clinical immunology department important immunological evaluations of vaccine candidates take place. The data gathered from the different assays is used in clinical trials, therefor this department plays a crucial role in the progress of the clinical trial. Examples of immunological assays that are performed are: ELISA, T cell ELISpot, cytokine staining (intracellular) and virus neutralization assays (VNA).
The main responsibility of the Scientist clinical immunology is to design and execute experiments for the development and validation of immunological assays to be used in the analysis of samples from clinical trials, and to generate high-quality scientific reports to document this work
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the development to validation of serology or cell-based assays (ELISA, Virus Neutralization Assays, ELISPOT, Flow Cytometry) according to regulatory standards such as ICH.
- Instruct operators on the scientific fundamentals of the assays being performed and review the data they generate.
- Proven knowledge of procedures to establish comparability and bridging of critical reagents
- Experience with using the "Design of Experiment (DoE)" principles is a plus
- Knowledge of biostatistics. Experience in statistical programs such SPSS or JMP is a must
- Affinity for data analysis and the thorough review of the data generated by others.
- Experience in high-throughput assays is desirable
- Excellent communication skills, fluent in English.
- Experienced in working under quality standards such as GCLP, GCP or GMP.
Requirements
- At least in possession of a PhD in the field of immunology or similar with 3+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotech setting;
- You have a creative and innovative mind;
- A team player with soft skills, able to motivate and empower others.
- Good planning and coordinating skills.
- You are an excellent communicator and familiar with client contact;
- English is a must,
- A valid work permit for the Netherlands is a must
