Job Description

Our client is an international, and highly innovative pharmaceutical company, that sets out to combat infectious disseased. We are looking for an Associate Scientist in the preclinical immunology team for the evaluation of vaccine candidates. In this role you work on cell culture experiments, ELISA, immunological assays and mouse models. Of course you will document your results, and will work in compliance with GMP guidelines. You are able to interpret your results and present them to others.


  • Setting up, planning and preparing your experiments;
  • Working with in vivo models;
  • Data analysis and interpretation;
  • Stock and inventory management;
  • Documentation in an electronic laboratory notebook;
  • Compliance with cGMP;


  • BSc or MSc in a relevant field e.g. immunology, biochemistry, Life sciences, Virology (PhD level applicants are excluded);
  • 3-8 years of work experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry;
  • Animal handling certificate (6, 9 or 13f);
  • Hands-on experience with immunology techniques such as ELISA, cell culture, and other assays;
  • Experience working in a strictly regulated environment such as GMP, GLP or GCP;
  • English is a Must, Dutch is considered a plus;
  • Located in the vicinity of Leiden as the role is executed on site;
  • Valid Dutch work permit is a must, candidates not in possession of a work permit will not receive a response;


  • Contract: 1 year via Oxford, realistic long- term perspective;
  • Salary: €2800- €4000 gross monthly based on a full-time position;
  • Holidays: 25;
