Our client, a leading global company in Health, Nutrition & Bioscience, is hiring. In this starter position you will be part of a R&D department that focuses on strain development.

Job Description
As a technician, you will play a crucial part in the strain development cycles that are aimed at creating various biotech products. You will organize and independently conduct experimental work in the laboratory. In this position you are encouraged to think along with the leading scientist to improve the existing strains. You will contribute to the department's professional knowledge and take on various team roles.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct, analyze, and report on microbial screening and strain development, particularly with yeast, fungi, and bacteria.
  • Understand technical issues and support strain development scientists to optimize processes and protocols.
  • Collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams with colleagues from strain development, fermentation, downstream processes, application, and analysis.
  • Process and interpret experimental data, write experimental reports in English, and present technical data internally.

Profile

  • ​​​​​​​Master in Life Science & Technology such as Genetics, Strain Development, Microbiology, or Biotechnology.
  • Experience with microbial screening and strain development, including cloning, transformation, gene editing, and CSI.
  • Experience with CRISPR CAS is a pre.
  • Curious, proactive, and collaborative personality.
  • Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
