R&D Technician Pilot Plant (GMP)

Job Description

For our client, an international biopharmaceutical company working on novel oncological therapeutics, we are looking for an experienced (3-5 years) bioprocess engineer to work as a R&D Technician in their GMP pilot plant. In a dedicated team of 9 professionals you develop, optimize & work with both DSP and USP techniques to produce antibodies used in cellular therapies. Thorough documentation of changes and deviations in these batches is required as well as maintenance of the clean room facilities. Since the team is relatively small there is are a lot of possibilities for extra tasks & responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Development, optimization & execution of USP and/or DSP processes;
  • Documentation of changes and deviations in the produced batches;
  • Troubleshooting & improvement of existing processes;
  • Responsible for the maintenance of cleanrooms and monitoring systems;
  • Support colleagues of manufacturing and QA when needed;
  • Thorough comprehension of the overall pilot plant R&D process;

Profile

  • BSc or MSc degree in chemical engineering, bioprocess engineering or equivalent;
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in biological processes / analytical development or in support of commercial biological manufacturing processes;
  • Experience in USP (e.g. bacterial culture fermentors, bioreactors, cell culture) AND/OR
  • Experience with DSP techniques such as Cross flow filtration, Äkta (CIEX / HIC / SEC / Gel Filtration) and Aseptic filling;
  • Experience with cleanroom equipment and GMP regulated manufacturing environment is a must;
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, meet deadlines, and prioritize multiple projects;
  • Attention to detail with excellent communication skills in both verbal and written form;
  • Flexibility to work within production deadlines;
  • English required (working language), German desirable;
