Job Description

The Medical Information Specialist, Medical Affairs- Infectious Diseases (MA ID-MDx) primary role is to coordinate, lead and manage medical information deliverables including review and maintenance of medical information content to meet customer needs through collaboration with key stakeholders to align on cross-functional strategic medical needs. The Medical Information specialist is a member of the Global Medical Affairs Team and act as a medical and scientific expert on infectious disease diagnostics. As part of the team the Medical Information expert is responsible for ensuring state of the art publication plan including dissemination internally and externally on the medical and clinical utility of the company's products and pipeline. The Expert will provide support across three franchises (Immune, Syndromic Diagnostics and PCR).

Responsibilities

  • Manage medical information deliverables including internal/external publications
  • Create coaching briefs, standard response documents, slide decks, Q&As for company product publication
  • Ensure medical information deliverables are medically and scientifically accurate, balanced, and meet internal/external stakeholder requirements
  • Ensure inquiries from customers are responded through high quality content based on most up-to-date literature. Track, analyse and report trends on inquires to provide medical and scientific insight to relevant medical affairs stakeholders
  • Lead internal publications to support the franchise publication strategy
  • Work with medical affairs teams during congresses, product launches, and key data releases and coordinate and lead on developing congress tracker, for planning and prioritization of MI deliverables to meet customer expectations in terms of quality and relevant scientific content
  • Ensure & provide medical knowledge and evidence update at regional level
  • Provide training to sales and marketing team regionally (INTERNAL)
  • Provide formal presentations on clinical utility and value of the company's ID molecular diagnostics solutions to hospital, laboratories, and other settings of relevance
  • Lead specific scientific and medical areas within the Global Medical Affairs Team ensuring state of the art scientific insights and assessments
  • Participate in development, review, and maintenance of key medical affairs deliverables such as advisory board presentations, scientific meeting materials, coaching briefs, internal trainings, etc. in collaboration with Medical Affairs colleagues
  • Support Investigator Initiated Studies Program
  • Identify proposals for Investigator Initiated Studies
  • Work and co-lead within the Global Medical Affairs team the review proposals and monitor implementation
  • Provide interface for interaction and communication with investigators
  • Manage study tracker (BERLINE database)

Requirements

  • Advanced bioscience or pharmacy/medical qualification (PharmD, PhD, MD, post-doctoral, etc.)
  • Minimum of 5 years post-graduation experience (preferably at least 2 years in industry)
  • Familiarity with infectious disease diagnosis, treatment and/or microbiology/virology methods is desirable
  • Strong professional research background with demonstrated ability to utilize strategic medical thinking to successfully align cross-functional teams
  • Leveraging scientific experience to engage in appropriate scientific information exchange with Health Care Providers and Internal Stakeholders via multiple channels
  • Knowledge of regulatory guidelines affecting the dissemination of medical information and product promotion
  • Strong accountability, interpersonal and organizational skills, and the ability to work in a cross-functional team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and willingness to travel on as needed basis
  • Should be comfortable and have experience, presenting technical information to audiences with various degrees of scientific and clinical experience
  • Medical writing and presentation skills are essential
  • Understanding of clinical trials regulation and execution
