Job description:

Our Client is looking for an EHS Manager in Valais. In this role, you'll be assigned to a project.
You'll support and advise the Project Manager, the CM and the Commissioning Manager as well as all further employees with regard to their responsibility to implement and maintain the project EHS Program. You establish the project EHS program and clarify any interface problems arising in this context. You'll act upon the fulfillment of the HSE requirements on site and coordinate all work between your team members as well as all the interfaces between other disciplines and contractors.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, perform or contract specific EHS tasks such as:
    - dispersion calculations.
    - height calculations.
    - evaluation of risk scenarios (fire, explosion, release of toxic gases/liquids).
    - compilation of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
  • Preparation, implementation and maintenance of project-specific EHS Program (Engineering & Construction) according to contractual requirements.
  • Implementation and maintenance of the project specific EHS system in accordance with the contract.
  • Evaluating the safety/risk level of the plant and/or systems jointly with Technical Disciplines through the use of specific studies, reviews and audits.
  • Monitoring EHS status of project.
  • Initiation of EHS improving measures.
  • Feedback from project execution for continuous improvement of the EHS Management System.
  • Participate in design reviews and safety analysis such as PEHSR, HAZOP, HAZCON, QRAs if deemed necessary.

Profile:

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Engineering/Science (e.g. Mechanical, Industrial, Safety & Health Sciences, Environmental Science) highly preferred.
  • Few years of EHS programs experience in Chemical / Pharmaceutical / Industrial Engineering EPC projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction industry practices, and regulatory agency requirements. Worked within the construction industry, with a preference for pharmaceutical industry experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of Swiss EHS codes and standards.
  • Five plus years related EHS management experience overseeing manufacturing environments.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations - Professional EHS accreditation with an internationally recognized body.
  • Local, Kantonal and government legal compliance experience, and regulatory certifications as required.
  • Must have high level of spoken and written German and English.
  • Required to speak effectively before groups of Senior Management, partners, contractors, and/or employees of the organization.
