Job description
For our client in Vilvoorde we're looking for a Bioanalytical Scientist II that can support them for a year. The Bioanalytical Scientist II conducts chemical, physical and biological analyses using a wide variety of laboratory instrumentation and complex analytical methods to isolate, identify and quantify components of biological and other samples to support research and development activities for manufacturing sites.
Responsibilities
- Identify and provide resolution in analytical instrumentation maintenance.
- Execute sample loading, processing and chromatographic trouble shooting and effectively communicate results to diverse scientific teams.
- Stay current with business trends and conducts root cause analysis of business problems to draw conclusions about business operations and suggest changes or improvements.
- Prepare analytical samples, standards, and properly disposes of waste according to guidelines in a high safety-focused environment.
- Use a variety of laboratory instrumentation and complex analytical methods to isolate, identify and quantify components of biological matrices and other samples.
- Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

Requirements
- Bachelor/Master/PhD degree in a scientific field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of two years of related work experience
- Basic technical knowledge in analytical chemistry and sterile techniques
- Experience working in a commercial plant, piloting facility, or (corporate) R&D environment
- Demonstrated and hands-on experience with liquid and/or gas chromatography
- Knowledge on chromatography data acquisition software such as Chromeleon, MassHunter, and Empower are considered a plus
- Knowledge on GLP, internal QC protocols and/or LIMS are considered a plus
- Background in chemistry
