Then keep reading, because we are looking for an enthusiastic associate scientist in the field of virology and immunology. In this role you will contribute to the evaluation of vaccines that combat infectious diseases by preforming a broad range of assays.

Job Description

Would you like to work for an international, and highly innovative pharmaceutical company? We are looking for an Associate Scientist in the discovery team for vaccine candidates in clinical trails. In this role you work on the immunological evaluation by means of ELISA, neutralizing antibody assays, in vivo imaging and other (complex) assays. Furthermore in the capacity of senior technician you will need a high level of independence, planning skills and comprehension of data analysis. Working under strict cGMP guidelines you will also be responsible for thorough documentation, drafting technical reports and accurate record keeping of the experimental data. We are looking for a pro-active and motivated professional that can contribute to improvement projects and work with deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Planning & Performing virological- and immuno-assays like ELISA, ICS, and ELISpot;
  • Maintain laboratory equipment;
  • Contribute to developing recommendations for improving processes and procedures;
  • Documentation in compliance with GMP and assist in information management;
  • Supporting project teams with planning, reaching the goals and staying within the budget;
  • Oversee laboratory inventory and purchase supplies;

Requirements

  • BSc and MSc in a relevant field e.g. immunology, biochemistry, Life sciences, Virology (PhD level applicants are excluded);
  • 3-8 years of work experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry (starters do not qualify);
  • Extensive know-how on virology, immunology, and associated assays;
  • Experience working in a strictly regulated environment such as GMP, GLP or GCP;
  • Independent, pro-active and eager to learn;
  • English is a Must, Dutch is considered a plus;
  • Located in the vicinity of Leiden as the role is executed on site;
  • Valid Dutch work permit is a must, candidates not in possession of a work permit will not receive a response;

Benefits

  • Contract: 1 year via Oxford, realistic long- term perspective;
  • Salary: €2800- €4000 gross monthly based on a full-time position;
