For an international food innovation center in South Holland, we are looking for a Senior Technician Food Technology. In this position, you will play a key role in supporting the development of new food ingredients and processes within a creative and multidisciplinary setting. The emphasis is on independence, technical expertise, and collaboration.
Job Description
The innovation center focuses on Research & Development of food ingredients, production processes, and sustainable solutions for global customers. Within this dynamic and technically diverse environment, you will take on a lead technician role with strong operational responsibilities.
As Senior Technician, you will work closely with other scientists and technicians. You will perform a wide variety of experimental tasks and contribute to projects in the ingredient solutions domain. This role requires a professional with extensive laboratory experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively across multiple disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and execute laboratory experiments, like enzymatic incubations, extractions, and preparation of food‑grade samples for tasting
- Conduct experiments based on technical hypotheses and analyze data
- Present experimental findings clearly, draw conclusions, and propose next steps for project progression
- Embrace automated workflows where relevant to improve laboratory efficiency and data analysis
- Maintain the laboratory in a food‑grade state, ensure proper operation, calibration, and maintenance of analytical equipment
Profile
- BSc degree in Food Technology or a related Life Sciences field
- 5+ years of laboratory experience in Life Sciences, ideally within an R&D or innovation environment
- Experience with enzymatic incubations
- Familiarity with food‑grade laboratory environments is a pre
- Self‑driven, proactive, and well‑organized, capable of managing multiple projects and shifting priorities
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
