The Portfolio manager will enhance the value of the company's drug portfolio and out-licensing opportunities via leading and developing external alliance agreements and assisting in closing business deals and contributing in decision making. Value creation by seeking, structuring, negotiating and managing collaborative arrangements with partner companies. Responsible for providing financial and strategic insights, and contributing to long term forecasting and strategic planning.Major Accountabilities:
  • Assist in the execution of the organization's BD&L strategies and plans.
  • Support Business Development activities to enhance the value of alliances and manage partnership risks.
  • Support BD&L project management.

Job Description

  • Drive and coordinate all portfolio and lifecycle activities in accordance with the local legislation, internal regulations, compliance, good practices and business objectives.
  • Develop standard processes and methodologies to analyze current and future portfolio on local level.
  • Prepare inputs for yearly portfolio workshops and in alignment with the regional portfolio strategy drive definition of local mid- and long term portfolio strategy.
  • Initiate long-term growth initiatives starting from the current and future portfolio in regards of lifecycle management that result in business growth or performance.

Responsibilities
Portfolio Management & Planning

  • Thoroughly analyze local portfolio, identify and give proposals for gaps closure, pruning candidates, new product needs/wishes
  • Strengthen the base portfolio and regionally recommended portfolio, support and drive life cycle management projects
  • Work closely with the local therapeutic area/brand managers, BU heads (Rx,OTC,Hospital), DRA&medical, Commercial, Finance/pricing to identify exiting port-folio optimization possibilities and new products needs considering regional strategy and therapeutic area focus, understand market needs, have good overview about the competitors and their actions on the market
  • Identify local opportunities for portfolio optimization (e.g. co-promotions, unused MAs, opportunities in line with local legislation (e.g. import of non registered drugs), etc...)
  • Prepare inputs for yearly portfolio workshops (coordinate all required inputs on local level)
  • Prepares countries 5Ys portfolio vision board after the portfolio workshop, aligned with regional portfolio strategy.
  • Have an insight into the patent expiry, patent opportunities and gaps
  • Drive local evaluation of new products proposals in accordance with established process and timelines
  • Prepare and submit forecasts in Spirit
  • Drive MA withdrawal process on local level
  • Drive trade mark process, including trademark selection on local level and its maintenance, in close cooperation with the regional franchises, regulatory and global trade mark departments
  • Support NVS collaboration opportunities assessment and Rx/Gx governance process (depends on the organization)
  • In cooperation with BPA analyze the current portfolio in terms of profitability and propose action (shift of focus, pruning)
  • Act as single point of contact to cluster portfolio
  • Participate in regular Cluster portfolio calls
  • Guarantee smooth flow of portfolio information into launch process and towards the BU's

Requirements

  • Minimum degree acceptable: University degree in science and/or business, advanced degree in business, bioscience
  • Languages: Advanced English language
  • 5 years of experience in the healthcare/pharmaceutical industry; proven operational experience in Marketing, Sales, Portfolio and Launch Management or Business Development
  • Proven financial and analytical skills
  • Proven project management knowledge
  • Familiar with basic marketing principles and strategies
  • Medical knowledge
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • able to create and strengthen network within virtual team
  • demonstrated ability as an effective team player
  • Existing right to work in Europe required
