Job Description

Our client are seeking an experienced Plant Engineer to ensure engineering excellence and to provide support to a designated plant area. This role is essential for achieving key metrics in Safety, Quality, Supply, and Costs. The primary responsibilities include maintaining plant equipment and instrumentation, ensuring their reliability and availability, and supporting uninterrupted supply of medicines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Resolve issues related to equipment breakdown/reliability.
  • Continuously optimize maintenance practices to maximize plant reliability and minimize lifecycle cost. Support department and site metrics in driving culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that statutory and regulatory maintenance requirements are satisfied.
  • Manage maintenance spending on services and equipment for a given area.
  • Provide technical expertise to the technician-craft group within area of responsibility.
  • Support equipment related Method 1 investigations
  • Compliance Support- Safety/Quality (lead weekly Compliance meeting)
  • Fulfill functional role within the plant process centric team (PCT) as the plant engineer, attend campaign start up meetings, daily production meetings, provide team members with plant equipment and instrumentation expertise and support.
  • Assist Operations with technical equipment related problems.
  • Contribute to equipment and plant design to ensure that the equipment is fit for purpose, meets user, safety and GMP requirements and minimizes life cycle cost.
  • Ensures handover of capital project equipment in accordance with the project lifecycle in relation to EAMS update and spare parts.
  • Participate in safety reviews or HAZOPs as required.
  • Participate in Quality regulatory audits and safety audits as required.
  • Development and updating of Engineering SOP's.


Key Requirements

  • As a minimum the plant engineer shall possess a degree in Mechanical, Marine, Electrical/Instrumentation, Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience and have minimum of three years' experience working in a GMP environment.
  • The plant engineer shall be experienced and skilled at problem solving.
  • The plant engineer shall be customer focused and flexible to meet changing business needs.
  • The plant engineer shall have excellent organizational, planning, and scheduling skills.
  • The plant engineer shall be capable of working independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team.
  • Contribute to healthy pro-active two-way communications within the team and cross-functionally.
  • The plant engineer shall have strong leadership qualities. A key part of the role is to continuously challenge customers, outside vendors/consultants and existing practices within the Engineering department to ensure that the service and solutions are optimised to meet business needs.
