The Electrical and Controls Engineer is directly responsible for determining and directing the most economical, high-quality design for electrical cabinets and the plc programming from concept to manufacturing, field installation and operation.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the conceptual design of the electrical installation and controls from bidding phase to equipment realization and operation:
- Support Sales Application Engineers and Aftermarket Sales Engineers with reviewing the client specs and determining the budget for the control system part
- Applying client specifications to the dryer package control system design
- Applying knowledge of international electrical standards, instrumentation standards (HART protocol, Foundation Fieldbus), Hazardous area requirements for electrical and control systems
- Preparing the Bills Of Material for the necessary components for the control system and electrical wiring
- Carrying out the detail design of the control system, including hardware and software requirements for PLC & DCS controlled systems
- Writing PLC & HMI software for our control systems (Siemens Tia Portal & Allen-Bradley Studio 5000).
- Verifies conceptual design to ensure client output requirements are achieved
- Oversee the functional testing of the control system at the supplier
- Participate in technical risk assessments
- Participate or support the Site Acceptance Tests where needed
- Preparation of engineering project documentation, including wiring diagrams, logic diagrams, control narratives for approval from client
- Carrying out technical studies and make recommendations for improvements that will increase equipment performance and economic value
SKILLS
- Excellent analytical and math skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Proficient with computer and information technology
- A thorough knowledge programming in Tia Portal & Studio 5000, designing electrical systems in Autocad, knowledge of the dryer processes
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Familiarity with applicable health and safety regulations
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical Engineering (alternative Mechatronica)
- Affinity with programming in software packages like Tia Portal & Studio 5000
- Minimum 5 years experience in similar function in industrial environment
- Knowledge of MS office applications.
- Fluent in Dutch and English. Knowledge of German language is beneficial for communication with our German production plant
