Job Description

Our client in Galway are seeking a CAD Technician to support their Engineering teams in creating & updating drawings and product designs from mark-ups. You will use drawing programs (i.e. SolidWorks) to support document change requests and different management software systems (e.g. Windchill, SAP, Capture) to carry out document creation or updates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble technical documents according to established procedures and guidelines
  • Process document change orders and update tracking systems utilizing available applications.
  • Revise and modify existing drawings.
  • Prepare complete sets of drawings for in-service items, including general arrangement, assembly, sub-assembly and detailed drawings.
  • Ensure drawings are prepared in proper format and contain correct specifications, materials, finishes and dimensions.
  • Follow SOP's and drafting standards.
  • Create and edit engineering drawings from rough sketches, verbal instructions, mark-ups and measurements.
  • Create graphic illustrations.
  • Support Engineering in product and tooling & product design and development.
  • Generate reports detailing workflow activities and progresses.
  • Write and revise any SOP's that require it.
  • Provide technical input to higher level Engineers and Technicians.


Key Requirements

  • Qualification or Certification in CAD Technology, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo (PTC), or AutoCAD.
  • Experience with PLM systems (e.g., Windchill, Agile) is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with ISO and ASME drawing standards.
  • Strong attention to detail, with excellent organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
