Job Description:

We are currently recruiting a full-time Associate Scientist specialising in Bacterial Cell Banking (m/f) to join our esteemed organisation, working within the Bacterial Vaccines department. As a key contributor, you will play a crucial role in the discovery and early development of innovative vaccines for bacterial infectious diseases, addressing significant medical needs such as bacteremia (sepsis) and nosocomial infections.

Responsibilities:

  • Lab Head Cell Bank Laboratory: Lead the cell bank laboratory operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
  • Experimental Planning and Preparation: Strategize and prepare for experimental activities related to microbial culture and assays.
  • Cell Bank Production and Characterisation: Oversee the production, characterisation, and documentation of pre-GMP cell banks for vaccine or reference antigen production strains.
  • Data Analysis and Interpretation: Analyse and interpret experimental data, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
  • Documentation in Electronic Laboratory Notebook and Reports: Maintain meticulous documentation, including traceability, in electronic laboratory notebooks and reports.
  • Stakeholder Management: Engage in effective cross-functional communication with internal and external stakeholders.


Education:

MSc or Bachelor's level in a relevant discipline such as microbiology or biotechnology.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in the Life Science industry or relevant internships.
  • Proficient in bacterial culture activities at biosafety levels 1 and 2, including genetically modified organisms.
  • Experience in microbial phenotyping, genotyping, and antigen expression assays.
  • Familiarity with MS Office, DNA analysis software, sample databases, and similar tools.

  • Team player with strong collaborative skills.

  • High affinity for laboratory work.
  • Organised, methodical, and conscientious approach.
  • Safety mindset.
  • Language skills: English (mandatory).
