Job Description:
As an Associate Scientist, you will play a pivotal role within the Upstream Process Development group. This team is dedicated to advancing process development activities for the production of groundbreaking molecules. You will be a vital link in the chain of bringing therapies to patients, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Design and execute experiments for process optimization and scale-up.
- Develop and implement strategies for enhancing cell line performance and process parameters.
- Conduct bioreactor operations, monitoring growth, viability, and productivity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for process transfers and improvements.
- Analyze experimental data, create technical reports, and present findings.
- Maintain a good understanding of GMP standards.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Provide support to the DSP PD team when necessary.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in cell biology, biotechnology, bioprocess technology, or related field. (hands-on PhD candidates with industrial USP experience are also encouraged to apply)
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably in industrial cell therapy, vaccines, or upstream biologics manufacturing.
- Full-time, on-site availability
- Hands-on experience with cell culture and process equipment.
- Strong knowledge of primary/mammalian cell culture.
- Familiarity with automatic cell processing, bioreactors (stirred tank and/or wave bag), and/or DSP techniques is a plus.
- Excellent team player with effective communication skills.
- Analytical mindset and dedication to quality.
- Flexibility for occasional weekend work and on-call service.
